SOFTBALL AGE:
For softball, your daughter's league age is her age as of January 1st of the current year. So for example, on January 1st, your daughter is is 9 years old and will turn 10 on April 1st, your daughter's playing age is 9 for all of 2024 (spring and fall). Thus, she will be at the 10U level.
If you would like to play up a division, please contact SAAA board.
BASEBALL AGE:
SAAA follows USSSA's age guidelines for division age cutoffs.
USSSA age determination date for FALL 2024/SPRING 2025 is MAY 1, 2025
- Determine your child’s age as of May 1. This is the league age for baseball that should be used to determine what age division to play in. The league age determines what division a player is eligible to register in. Example – If the league age of a player is 11 on May 1st, then the player is eligible to register in 12U.
- Playing Up--Please contact SAAA to request permission to play up a division. Prior to playing up a division, the player should have played at least one year at his or her assigned age division or be within one year of aging up to the requested division. Playing up a division must be requested each season and is not guaranteed as playing up may take away a spot of a player at his or her designated age division. Requests to play up should be made at the earliest possible time to ensure a possibility of playing up. A request to play up is not automatic and is not guaranteed to be granted.
- Playing down an age group not permitted.
